Where to go

What to visit in Sibiu?

It depends on the time you have available!
You may take a tour of the historic center in two hours at most. Start from the guesthouse in the direction of the Main Square, get inside the building of the City Hall, where the Tourist and Information Center is to be found and ask for a map.
Then walk through the Lesser Square (just behind the building of the City Hall, on its right side) and cross Liars’ Bridge towards Huet Square. The Upper and Lower Towns are connected by five staircases, four of which may be found around here.
The oldest and most spectacular crossing is by means of the Passage of Stairs, right around the corner as you exit the Huet Square towards the History Museum.
Come back to the Main Square and walk along Nicolae Balcescu street until you reach the Continental Forum Hotel. Turn left on Cetății street and see part of the old fortifications of the town. Once across the Thalia Hall, which plays host to the Philharmonic Orchestra, take the passageway to your left and exit into Arhivelor street. Follow this to the other end. A vaulted passage will take you back to the Main Square.
It surely is worth spending one or two hours for such a walk!
